As an investor, John was a managing director at Warburg Pincus and consultant at Long Ridge Equity Partners where he was responsible for sourcing, diligence, valuation and oversight of financial technology investments. He left Long Ridge to join FXCM, a portfolio company.
At FXCM, he managed the company's transition from a successful private firm to a $1bn listed public company, steering its successful NYSE IPO. He then executed an M&A strategy responsible for 20% of company revenues. He later sourced, negotiated and closed the sale of five entities,
As a software entrepreneur, he led Micro-Frame Technologies from PC startup through Inc. 500 listing, raising seed through Series D financing rounds, navigating multiple shifts in product, market and technology, and developing a talented leadership team.
As a senior advisor he has used his extensive operational experience and capacity for rapid learning to take on a diverse mix of roles and projects, expanding the bandwidth of leadership teams.
John is also active in impact investing. He helped design, create and launch an innovative impact investment fund supporting social enterprises in Sub-Saharan Africa. To date, the fund has raised $32 million and made 70 investments in 9 countries
